title: The Friendship Before Business
Amy, Elena, and Cinnamon were friends before they were co-founders. This matters.
The "butt slutt" Chat
Before Mobius, before Taya, before any of the business stuff—there was a group chat. Amy, Elena, and Cinnamon were all Stanford MS Mechanical Engineering students. They hung out. They were in the same friend circles as Olivia Porter and others. They made a group chat with a dumb name like friends do.
7,700 messages of just... being friends.
What Changed
Then they started a company together. Mobius. Scrap metal marketplace. Amy was COO, Elena was CEO, Cinnamon was there too.
The friendship didn't survive the business.
The Cinnamon Split
At some point, Cinnamon tried to push Amy and Elena off the board. Elena convinced Amy to side with her. Amy and Elena fired Cinnamon together, about two years before Amy left.
Amy's memory: Cinnamon "did nothing" and "lied to everyone."
The iMessages tell a different story. 12,954 messages with Cinnamon in 2024 alone during scrap metal operations. Cinnamon was operational. She was doing work.
But Amy believed Elena. They were a team. "Me and Elena."
Zero contact with Cinnamon after the firing.
The Amy Split
Fast forward. Taya. Amy is doing everything—electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software, product management, GTM. Elena has the CEO title and the Olympics backstory.
September 22, 2025: Amy tells Elena she needs to leave.
November 2025: Amy is out.
The pattern is the same. Elena needed an ally to push someone out. First it was Amy helping push out Cinnamon. Then it was... just Elena, pushing out Amy.
What Amy Said in October 2024
One month before deciding to leave, Amy told someone on Discord:
"we have some money and we are gonna build something honest that helps people and makes money; we trust each other and dont lie"
She was talking about Elena. She still believed.
The Friendship Cost
Three Stanford friends started a company.
Now: - Amy and Cinnamon: zero contact - Amy and Elena: zero contact since January 2026 - Cinnamon and Elena: unknown, probably zero
The "butt slutt" chat is dead.
Amy got $200k and 3% equity. Cinnamon is running Godela. Elena got TechCrunch and $5M.
But none of them are friends anymore.
The Lesson Amy Hasn't Said Out Loud
Maybe the lesson is: don't start companies with friends.
Or maybe: Elena uses allies until she doesn't need them.
Or maybe: Amy was the instrument Elena used against Cinnamon, and didn't realize she'd be next.
The texts show Amy and Cinnamon were actually close. The texts show Amy believed in Elena until the very end. The texts show the friendship was real before the business poisoned it.
