Davis is a college town in the Sacramento Valley, home to UC Davis. Amy lived here around 2020-2021, during the Apple internship era.
What's Known
Davis appears in Amy's housing history during the same period she was working at Apple Softgoods. She also had a SoMa apartment at 1080 Folsom St in San Francisco (September 2021 rental application with Julian Lee). Whether Davis was before the SoMa apartment, concurrent, or briefly overlapping is not fully documented.
Davis is a reasonable commute to Apple Park in Cupertino only if you are extremely committed to cheap rent or have a reason to be there. More likely Amy had some connection to the area, possibly through UC Davis or someone living there.
Significance
Davis is not part of the childhood origin story. The childhood moves were Guilderland to Peoria. Davis belongs to the gap year chapter: Amy left Stanford, worked at Apple, lived in Davis and then SoMa, and eventually returned to Stanford for the MS. It is one of the transitional addresses between student life and startup life.
